Boolah’s major Victorian trial shows early promise for cutting farm emissions
Boolah’s Victorian trial farm has been featured in The Weekly Times, with journalist Nicola Bell reporting early results from the Wimmera regenerative cropping trial.
Hosted in partnership with the Henderson family of Darcra Farming at Wilkur, the trial is now in its second year and has expanded into 450 hectares of barley, with 11 trials exploring emissions reduction, soil carbon, nitrogen efficiency and crop resilience.
Early 2025 results showed Loam Bio’s CarbonBuilder delivered a 7.4 per cent yield increase in lighter soils, while Mort & Co’s Terrus Pro also recorded positive yield outcomes.
Boolah Head of Research and Development Brooke Sauer said the second year of trials is also starting to show positive legacy impacts on soil biology indicators, including drought resilience and nutrient cycling capability.
