THE BOOLAH STORY

Established in 2002 by Stuart and Lyndall Tighe as a primary production and contract farming venture, the  Boolah Group has grown into one of Australia's most forward-thinking agricultural businesses. What began as a hands-on farming operation has evolved into a vertically integrated enterprise servicing the entire malt barley  supply chain — from soil to silo, and beyond.

Today, Boolah operates across four specialised yet seamlessly connected divisions that collectively supply 60% of the Australian malt barley market. These divisions cover a wide spectrum of services including farm and land management, end user connections, ag services including grain storage as well as sustainability and traceability research and development.

Boolah’s mission is to connect sustainably grown, low-emission, traceable barley to customers while continuously refining farming practices to improve both profitability and environmental outcomes. Across all divisions, the group champions innovation in sustainability — testing new technologies, refining processes, and facilitating collaboration across the industry to ensure commercial viability at scale.

Whether managing farmland, moving grain, or connecting growers with consumers, Boolah combines independent farming heritage with modern supply chain strategy. With a clear vision for a more sustainable and profitable agricultural future, Boolah stands as a trusted facilitator of change in a rapidly evolving industry.
